On this day in 1867 the American architect was born.
He was way too young to blow out his candles so I helped.
Mr. Wright, as I like to call him, was an American architect, interior designer, writer, and educator, who designed more than 1,000 structures, 532 of which were completed. Wright believed in designing structures that were in harmony with humanity and its environment, a philosophy he called Organic Architecture.
This design philosophy promotes harmony between human habitation and the natural world through design approaches so sympathetic and well integrated with its site, that buildings, furnishings, and surroundings become part of a unified, interrelated composition.
Many homes now have open floor plans, which pretty much demands an interrelated composition.
Stop in today with a rough sketch of your own plan and let's get started!
